Mr Babu Gogineni - inaugural address 





Mr Babu Gogineni is the Director of International Humanist and Ethical Union ( IHEU ). He is for the last several years India's Rationalist-humanist voice in World arena. He is a popular International speaker and has done great work for IHEU when he was its Executive Director based in London for 9 years. He is also a presenter and debater on many Television channels.


Dr C Viswanathan  -   Women and Freethought




Dr C Viswanathan , a practicing Ortho surgeon from  Ottapalam , is considered the think tank behind the "new" Rationalist movement of Kerala. He is the editor of Yukthiyugam and has been in the fore front in exposing religious and secular superstitions through his speeches and articles.
He will be talking on a controversial topic, on women and freethought. Apart from the overwhelming social reasons does biology play a role in keeping women away from Freethought forums as some people believe ? Let us hear Dr Viswanathan.


Dr P Viswanathan : Ayurveda - a scientific appraoch



Dr P Viswanathan is a practicing Ayurvedic specialist from Hyderabad. He is well known for his Science based criticism of Ayurveda.
At a time when the new Central Government is going full steam in promoting traditional Indian medicine, let us hear from Dr Viswanathan about its scientific basis.






Dr K.M.Sreekumar - Natural farming and Organic farming - a Scientific view



Dr K M Sreekumar is a Professor at Kerala Agricultural University. He created waves when he took a different but science based approach on the emotional Endosulphan issue.

Prof Ravichandran.C  - Hotel Punyam A/C


Prof C Ravichandran teaches at University College, Thiruvananthapuram. He shot into fame by his hugely successful malayalam translations of Richard Dawkins's books. He is a popular speaker too, and takes up a speech assignment promoting science and rationalism almost every Sunday some where in Kerala. He has also written several books including those exposing Astrology and Bhagavad Gita.

Dr Vijayan A P, a Pediatrician working in Kozhikode is the founder member of Science Trust, Calicut. He has done research in the field of nutrition and brain development. His talk on the subject should be very informative.



Ms Geetha T G  -   Freethought Parenting




Ms Geetha T G has a post graduate degree in Mathematics and another in Psychology and works in a Central Government organisation in Chennai. She is an active member of Nirmukta and is a founder member of Gender Awareness Promoters. She will be handling a very important topic of how freethinkers could raise their children..



Prof V.Vijayakumar -  Physics and it's spiritualistic interpretations


Professor V.Vijayakumar teaches Physics at the Government Victoria College, Palakkad. He has written articles and books in fields as varying as Science and Cinema. At a time when Spiritualists are claiming that modern Physics validates their spirituality, this talk becomes very relevant. 





Dr Manoj Komath -  Modern Chathans and Synthetic Gods







Dr Manoj Komath is a senior scientist at Sree Chithira Thirunal Institute of Medical Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram. He is an award winning Science writer with several books and articles to his credit including those exposing Alternative Medicine and Astrology. He will be presenting the findings of his studies on Chathan seva of Kerala ( sort of devil worship and black magic).






Dr Arun.N.M  -   Democracy and Majoritarianism 




Dr Arun.N.M works as a consultant in Internal Medicine and is also a free thinker active in social media.
At a time when majoritarianism is threatening the basis of Indian democracy and secularism, this is an important topic. 


Mr Vaisakhan Thampi  -  


Mr Vaisakhan Thampi is a Physicist at CSIR , Thiruvananthapuram. He is an author of many articles popularizing Science. His sharp and rational posts of social criticism has made him a mini celebrity on Facebook. We can expect a simple but very informative talk from him.





Mr E.A.Jabbar  -    'Morality' of our society



Mr E.A Jabbar ( or Jabbar mash as he is foundly called) can be called as the anchor of Rationalist movement in Kerala. Well known for his organisational and oratory skills, he is sharp and fearless in criticism of religions and moral hypocrisy. .
At a time in history of our society when the youth is trying to escape from the chains of moral policing, this talk is very apt.
